Fiction Contests

Good Morning Fiction Fans,

Flagrant Fiction host, Linda St.Cyr, has been on the look out for great stories and fiction competitions for creative writers. Here are some competitions that offer monetary prize's and publication.

Reading Writers Contest Cafe
Prize: $100 and publication in The Verb
Theme: '77
Deadline: October 15, 2009

ReadMe Publishing
Prize: 1st- $50, 2nd- $25, 3rd- $10 and publication in a science fiction collection.
Theme: Science Fiction- What if?
Deadline: August 31st, 2009

Godwana Press
Theme: Tales of Route 66 (open genre)
Prize: $50 per story, publication in Tales of Route 66 and free copy of the book
Deadline: September 1st, 2009

AnthologyBuilder: Match-That-Artwork Contest
Theme: Pick a photo on the website listed as possible cover art and write a story to match it.
Prize: General Submission Category- $200 and publication on AnthologyBuilder
Rising Star Category- $100 and publication on AnthologyBuilder
Finalists- $30 gift certificate to AnthologyBuilder and a free critique
Deadline: September 20th, 2009

Dorchester Publishing and Leisure Book's "Fresh Blood" Contest
Theme: novel length unpublished horror fiction
Prize: Winner will receive a contract for publication in Leisure’s 2011 lineup, as well as a contract from ChiZine Publications for a limited-edition hardcover release, also in 2011.
Deadline: September 30th, 2009

Fight On! Magazine Fiction Contest
Theme: "Weird Enclaves and Black Pits" Fantasy Fiction
Prizes: 1st- $100, 2nd- $60, 3rd- $30, publication in anthology and all prize winners and honorable mentions will receive a free copy of the anthology.
Deadline: Halloween 2009
